These talented photographers have different approaches, but their work has a common thread. Photographs of people can transport the viewer, perhaps letting them identify with an anonymous person or imagining a life different than their own.
Susan Kozodoy Silkowitz has been photographing people since the 1970s. Her photos of people on the street are candid shots.
Louise Millmann is frequently the subject of her own photography and sometimes enlists friends. These staged shots are made while waiting around on film sets.
Pamela Waldroup uses her camera to document her experiences. Her portraits were taken over a span of 20 years and reflect her connection to her subject.
