The South Huntington Public Library is ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible.
Print Magnifier
For patrons who are visually impaired, the library has a print magnifier, which can be used to read printed materials in the library. Patrons can also bring items from home, such as mail, crossword puzzles and/or photographs. All of the public computer terminals are equipped with screen magnifying software. Assistive Listening Devices
For hearing impaired patrons, the library has several assistive listening devices that enable patrons to better hear movies and lectures. Monday afternoon movies are shown with closed captions.
Large Print Collection
Large print books are available at the Library. Titles include a wide choice of best-sellers, fiction and non-fiction.
Talking Book and Braille Service
Suffolk County residents who have difficulty reading or listening to regular print and
audiovisual materials are eligible for free talking books and Braille books through the New York Public Library’s Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library.
Homebound Services
If you are unable to get to the library because of illness, injury or disability, you can arrange for materials to be delivered to your home. Request specific items or let us know of your preferences and a librarian will choose materials for you.
