Unemployment Benefits & CARES Act Explained
The federal CARES Act provides enhanced Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits and Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) for New Yorkers.
The New York State Department of Labor is implementing a filing system based on the first letter of the applicants last name (alphabetical order). If you are filing a new unemployment insurance claim, the day you should file is based on the first letter of your last name. Visit the New York State Department of Labor website for more information.

Treasury, IRS to Launch “Get My Payment” Web App This Week
The U.S. Department of the Treasury and IRS are scheduled to launch the “Get My Payment” web application this week. The FREE app, which will be found at IRS.gov, will allow taxpayers who filed their tax return in 2018 or 2019 but did not provide their
banking information on their return to submit direct deposit information.

SBA Paycheck Protection Program
The Paycheck Protection Program is a loan designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll during the Coronavirus (COVID--19) crisis. SBA will forgive loans if all employees are kept on the payroll for eight weeks and the money is used for payroll, rent, mortgage interest, or utilities. You can apply through any existing SBA 7(a) lender or through any federally insured depository institution, federally insured credit union, and Farm Credit System institution that is participating.

The U.S. Small Business Administration Economic Injury Disaster Loans EIDL
Low-interest loans of up to $2 million can help small businesses and private nonprofit organizations overcome the temporary loss of revenue they are experiencing as a result of the Coronavirus. This includes New York State.
