Holiday Mail for Heroes: a Community Service Program

Sunday, November 12

2:00-4:00pm

Drop in and brighten the season for deployed service members by creating holiday cards!  Make 2 cards to earn a maximum of one hour of community service.  No registration required.

Cards for Cops: a Community Service Program

Wednesday, November 15

7:00-8:00pm

Help spread holiday cheer to police officers across Long Island and New York City with handmade cards which will be donated to Beyond the Badge NY.  One hour of community service.  Registration begins November 3 at 7pm. 

Cybersafety: a Community Service Program

6:00-7:00pm

Cyber crimes have exponentially increased in the age of social media. Learn how to protect yourself and other through our cyber safety program which will focus on identifying current cyber threats and the steps to take to protect yourself online. A part of South Huntington YA Library’s Safety Series.  Registration begins November 10 at 7pm.

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is an active organization made up of South Huntington teens in grades 6-12 who work together to make a difference in our library.  Tell us your ideas for community service, programs and contests.  Ms. Jen & Ms. Elizabeth will lead this meeting with what the YA Library is already planning for you with our programs and community service. Meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday night of the month at 7pm. Community service hours are provided.  New members are always welcome!  This meeting is for South Huntington library district residents currently in grades 6-12. No registration is required.

Ornaments for Service Members: a Community Service Program

Send joy to a deployed or hospitalized service member by making ornaments!  One hour of community service.  Registration begins November 24 at 7pm.
