March Community Service for SHPL residents currently in Grades 6-12

Registration is not required for the programs below; however, participants in these passive programs must have SHPL library cards and be currently in grades 6-12. These opportunities are available from March 1- 31. We will email you a community service certificates within 2 weeks. 

Please email the below community service activities to youthconnection@shpl.info with the title “COMMUNITY SERVICE” in the subject line. Include the following information to not delay your community service:

  • Your SHPL library barcode ( it starts with 20652…)
  • your first and last name,
  • grade 
  • school 

 

March Monthly Community Service: Service: Send a Smile

Print out and color in coloring sheets from the following link: https://shpl.info/sites/default/files/2023-02/Color%20a%20Smile.pdf They will be sent to Color a Smile, a non profit organization that distributes cheerful drawings to people in need of a smile. For every 5 colored sheets you will receive one hour of community service with a maximum of 2 hours (10 colored sheets) for the whole month.  Completed coloring sheets must be returned in person by March 31 in order to receive community service

 

Community service opportunities are also available as registered programs in our monthly and weekly newsletters. Check our library program calendar to see what is available. The majority of these programs require registration with a valid SHPL card in the participant’s name and are available to those in grades 6-12. Other opportunities are available to those who attend our monthly Teen Advisory Board meetings.  Questions? Please ask!
