March 2023 - New Movies & TV Releases

The Academy Awards will be presented on Sunday, March 12. A few Oscar-nominated movies highlight the video releases this month. 

Nominated for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay and based on the novel of the same name, Women Talking takes place at an isolated religious community where a group of women are grappling with reconciling a brutal reality with their faith.

Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie star in Babylon, which traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood. It has been nominated for three Oscars. 

A reclusive English teacher suffering from severe obesity attempts to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter for one last chance at redemption in The Whale. Nominated for Best Actor (Brendan Fraser), Best Supporting Actress (Hong Chau) and Best Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling. 

Based on the Fredrick Backman novel A Man Called Ove, A Man Called Otto tells the story of Otto Anderson (Tom Hanks), a grumpy widower whose only joy comes from criticizing and judging his exasperated neighbors. When a lively young family moves in next door, he meets his match in quick-witted and very pregnant Marisol, leading to an unexpected friendship that will turn his world upside-down.

Plane, starring Gerard Butler, is sure to please action movie fans. A pilot finds himself caught in a war zone after he's forced to land his commercial aircraft during a terrible storm.  

M3GAN is a horror movie which follows the eponymous artificially intelligent doll who develops self-awareness and becomes hostile towards anyone who comes between her and her human companion.

Julia Roberts and Sean Penn star in the mini-series Gaslit about the involvement of John MItchell and his wife Martha in the Watergate scandal.
