December Community Service for SHPL cardholders currently in Grades 6-12

Registration is not required for the programs below; however, participants in these passive programs must have SHPL library cards and be currently in grades 6-12. These opportunities are available from December 1-31. We will email you a community service certificates within 2 weeks. 

Please email the below community service activities to youthconnection@shpl.info with the title “COMMUNITY SERVICE” in the subject line. Include the following information to not delay your community service:

  • Your SHPL library barcode ( it starts with 20652…)
  • your first and last name,
  • grade 
  • school 

Monthly Community Service: Tell Us Your Best Volunteer Experience!

Do you volunteer at an animal shelter? Are you a fire department probie? Have you helped at a food pantry? Write a paragraph (at least 4 sentences) about your most interesting community service experience. Be sure to tell us something you learned and how other teens can volunteer this way too! Earn a maximum of one hour of community service.

Many community service opportunities are also available as online programs. Check our monthly and weekly newsletters and our library program calendar to see what is available.The majority of these programs require registration with a valid SHPL card in the participant’s name and are available to those in grades 6-12.
