July 2022 - New Movies & TV Releases

Life is normalizing as people return to movie theaters for blockbuster summer movies such as Top Gun : Maverick, Jurassic World : Dominion, and Minions : the Rise of Gru. 

While summer has traditionally been a slow time for major video releases, there are some notable movies and TV series being released this month. 

Downton Abbey: A New Era finds the Crawley family enjoying the last years of the Roaring Twenties in various gigantic homes before the Great Depression arrives. The family finds out they've inherited yet another gorgeous property,  a villa in the South of France.

Everything Everywhere All at Once stars Michelle Yeoh as a Chinese-American woman being audited by the Internal Revenue Service who discovers that she must connect with parallel universe versions of herself to prevent a powerful being from causing the destruction of the multiverse.

Based on the animated television series, The Bob’s Burgers Movie follows Bob and his family as they struggle to pay their loan after a sinkhole opens in front of their restaurant and affects business.

Winner of the Academy Award for International Feature Film, Drive My Car is a Japanese film about a middle-aged theater director who directs a multilingual production of Uncle Vanya in Hiroshima while grappling with the premature death of his wife. 

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character as he teams up with a mysterious teenage girl from his dreams who can travel across multiverses, to battle multiple threats, including other-universe versions of himself.

The Lost City stars Sandra Bullock as a reclusive romance novelist on a book tour with a cover model (Channing Tatum) as they get swept up in a kidnapping attempt that lands them both in a cutthroat jungle adventure.

The first season of The Gilded Age is set in 1882 as a young woman enters New York City's rigid social scene and is drawn into the daily conflicts surrounding the nouveau riche Russell family and the established van Rhijn-Brook family.

Additional TV releases this month include the fourth season of Killing Eve, the seventh season of Grantchester and first seasons of Hotel Portofino and Yellowjackets
