A Note on Reopening From the Director

As Long Island begins to re-open, our staff is looking forward to doing the same. We hope to adhere to the follow schedule unless health metrics change:

  • June 1 – Staff returns to the library to clean, update systems and prepare the building.

  • June 15 – We will offer a version of contactless pickup with more details to follow. Book returns will commence in our Book Drop as will telephone reference assistance.

  • July 6 – We hope to open our doors to patrons, probably with restrictions in place.

We will gradually loosen restrictions on library use as determined by state guidance and health metrics.

Our virtual programming for all ages will continue. Check our website calendar to see what is being offered. Our in-house programming will resume when it is deemed safe to once again gather in groups.

We encourage you to check our website and social media regularly for details and updates.

While our physical building as well as our services may look different going forward, we remain as dedicated as ever to our mission and core values of connection, awareness, respect and empathy.

Stay safe and be well,

JANET SCHERER
