Running Out of Kids' Books? We've Got You Covered!

Libraries may be closed for now, but that doesn’t mean that your children need to keep
re-reading the same old books. Your South Huntington library card gives you access to
all kinds of free books that you can read, listen to, or watch from home at any time.
Don’t have a library card? You can create a temporary one here to gain access to these
resources and more.

Overdrive

Livebrary Overdrive Kids is a free service offered by the library that lets you borrow
digital content (like ebooks and audiobooks) anytime, anywhere. More than 20,000 titles
are available on OverDrive Kids. You’ll find everything from picture books and easy
readers to comic/graphic books to current and classic children’s chapter books, plus a
full array of non-fiction titles. You can place a hold if the book you’d like is not currently
available, or else check out No Wait, No Problems for books that are ready to be
borrowed at any time. Borrow up to 7 books at a time, with no monthly limits on check outs.

Libby app

The free Libby app is an easy way to get started with digital books, audiobooks, and
magazines from your public library. It has the same collection of titles as the OverDrive
app. It's just a different way to access the same Digital Library collection. Libby is
available for Android, iOS, Windows 10, some Chromebooks, and in your browser at
libbyapp.com. If you have a device that's not compatible with Libby, you can use the
OverDrive app to borrow and enjoy digital titles instead.

Axis360

Axis 360 Kids is an ebook and audiobook service that gives exclusive access to popular
titles for South Huntington Patrons. Over 4,000 children’s books are available to read
electronically or to listen to on your device. While most of our eBook and audiobook
collection is available via Overdrive, Axis 360 is an extra place to look for books. You
can check out 3 books at a time on Axis 360.

Hoopla

Hoopla is a digital media service that lets you instantly borrow ebooks, audiobooks and
graphic novels, plus movies and music too. Borrow up to 8 items per month on Hoopla.
Kids Mode helps you find titles that are appropriate for your family. When Kids Mode is
on, all titles intended for adults are filtered out from search results, browsing titles --
even history, favorites, and the "My Hoopla" view. You can turn Kids Mode on or off
under the Settings menu. The "Hoopla Kids Mode" banner is shown when it's on.
