Ennid Berger’s series for this exhibit is photography with a focus on the light of the sky and the sea. During the pandemic months of 2020-21, Ennid a resident of Long Island and Key West, was living in Key West, taking daily images of the stunning natural changes in the sky and sea. Her work is about light and shadow, but as she calls this series “transferring energy,” it is also about creating positive energy from the beauty of nature.
Mike McLaughlin, an admirer of modern architecture, says his inspiration for photography comes from a desire to hone the spare, clean lines of the aesthetic. Based both on Long Island and in New York City, Mike has the opportunity to interpret this clarity of form in both urban and rural settings. The photography in this exhibit focuses on the classical and modern city buildings of New York City. He describes this series as “architectural extractions,” in which he removes the distractions around the subject to highlight the beauty and personality of the particular building.
The exhibit may be viewed during regular library hours.
