This week, our armchair travels take us to Austria, with a special focus on Salzburg and Vienna. For many Americans, The Sound of Music was their first introduction to Austria, but there is a lot more to this country than its association with a Hollywood production. It was Marie Antoinette's childhood playground and home base for the rulers of most of central Europe, the Hapsburgs and the Holy Roman Empire. See 17th century carillon chimes, trick fountains, imperial jewels and Roman ruins -- there's a lot packed into one country.
