Segregation extended into death for African Americans, especially in the Southern U.S. Genealogist Dr. Janice Lovelace will discuss the development of separate funeral homes and burial grounds as well as burial practices for African Americans from the 16th to the 20th century in an illustrated Zoom presentation. Registration is required, and open to all. Co-sponsored with the Long Island Reads Committee.
