Monthly Community Service: Why Do You Volunteer?

April is National Volunteer Month! Between April 1-30, earn 1 hour of community service by creating a Google slide telling us what volunteering means to you, why do you volunteer and if you have a favorite story about one of your volunteer experiences. Slides must include a minimum of 4 sentences on them and a picture of you: it doesn't have to be you volunteering we just want to see your smiling faces.

Visit our event calendar to download a PDF example of how your slide should look before submitting your project. Submissions must be emailed to jgriffing@shpl.info and/or youthconnection@shpl.info no later than Saturday, April 30 to receive community service credit.  Slides should be in pptx, jpg or png format. You must provide the following information in order to receive community service:

1. first and last name
2. grade in school
3. SHPL barcode (for the participant)

Certificates will be emailed out on/before May 10. If you need the certificate by April 25, you must submit your slides by  April 21. 

A maximum of 2 slides, for 2 hours of community service, may be submitted for the month of April.
