Event Details

Join a Park Ranger and explore salt marsh vegetation with its extensive root systems that enable them to withstand brief storm surges and buffer storm impacts on upland areas. Fire Island National Seashore includes a considerable amount of salt marsh within its boundaries, which are nursery grounds for fish and valuable habitats for wading birds and waterfowl.
