Program Description

Event Details

Art Club is a fun and creative program which spotlights a different artist each week.  Kids will listen to a story and create their own works of art inspired by artists such as Ansel Adams, Ashley Bryan, Nikki McClure, Ruth Asawa, Banksy, Piet Mondrian, Marc Chagall, Joseph Cornell, Alexander Calder, Gyo Fujikawa, Bill Cunningham, and Edward Hopper.

Ruth Asawa was a renowned sculptor, educator and arts activist. Inspired by a trip to Mexico, Asawa began to adapt the basket-weaving techniques that she had observed there to her own artistic practice, creating wire sculptures. Listen to a story, learn about Asawa’s life and art techniques, and create your own work of art inspired by her art.

Register beginning October 15.
