Program Description

Event Details

Art Club is a fun and creative program which spotlights a different artist each week.  Kids will learn about various artists and create their own works of art inspired by artists such as Katsushika Hokusai, Bernard Saint-Maxent, Frank LLoyd Wright, Jen Stark, Georgia O'Keeffe, Celestino Piatti, Frank Stella, Jeff Koons, Laurel Birch, Frida Kahlo, Kenny Scharf, and Takashi Murakami.

Katsushika Hokusai was a Japanese artist, painter and printmaker of the Edo period. In his time, he was Japan's leading expert on Chinese painting.  Hokusai is best-known as author of the woodblock print series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (c. 1831), which includes the iconic and internationally recognized print, The Great Wave off Kanagawa, created during the 1820s.  Learn about the artist and create your own work of art inspired by him.

Register beginning February 18.
