Program Description

Event Details

Art Club is a fun and creative program which spotlights a different artist each week.  Kids will listen to a story and create their own works of art inspired by artists such as Ansel Adams, Ashley Bryan, Nikki McClure, Ruth Asawa, Banksy, Piet Mondrian, Marc Chagall, Joseph Cornell, Alexander Calder, Gyo Fujikawa, Bill Cunningham, and Edward Hopper.

Joseph Cornell was a self-taught American artist who was best known for his collections of trinkets, memorabilia, found objects and old book pages housed in wooden boxes. Cornell’s boxes were about things we cannot see: memories, fantasies and dreams. Listen to a story, learn about Cornell’s life and art techniques, and create your own work of art inspired by him.

Register beginning October 29.
