Art Club: Jean-Michel Basquiat

Art Club is a fun and creative program which spotlights a different artist each week.  Kids will listen to a story and create their own works of art inspired by artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Wassily Kandinsky, Gustav Klimt, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Romare Bearden, and Vincent Van Gogh.

A poet, musician, and graffiti prodigy in late-1970s New York, Jean-Michel Basquiat had honed his signature painting style of scribbling, elusive symbols and diagrams, and mask-and-skull imagery by the time he was 20.  Listen to a story, learn about Basquiat's life and art techniques, and create your own work of art inspired by him.
