Event Details
Art Club is a fun and creative program which spotlights a different artist each week. Kids will listen to a story and create their own works of art inspired by artists such as Ansel Adams, Ashley Bryan, Nikki McClure, Ruth Asawa, Banksy, Piet Mondrian, Marc Chagall, Joseph Cornell, Alexander Calder, Gyo Fujikawa, Bill Cunningham, and Edward Hopper.
Ashley Bryan is an eclectic artist who uses painting, poetry, music, collage, and prose to tell stories. Bryan is known for retelling African folktales in a distinct, rhythmic prose that is heavily influenced by African-American poetry. Listen to a story, learn about Bryan’s life and art techniques, and create your own work of art inspired by his art.
Register online and pick up your art kit at the Children's Desk beginning September 17.
