Budget Vote & Trustee Election: Tues., April 8, 10:00am-9:00pm
The South Huntington Public Library’s budget vote and trustee election will be held Tuesday, April 8 from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. in the meeting room on the lower level. Incumbent Trustee Stella Fox is running for re-election to a five-year term.
The proposed operating budget for 2025-26 maintains our history of fiscal responsibility and providing both traditional and innovative library materials, programs and services for all ages at the lowest possible cost.
Voting Information
To vote on April 8, you must be 18, a U.S. citizen and a resident of the South Huntington School District (#13) for at least 30 days. If you are not registered to vote, you may do so on vote day. Identification proving residency is required.
You can also request an absentee ballot or an early voting ballot. Applications are available at the library from the clerk of the vote. Completed applications must be received by April 1 if the ballot is to be mailed, or April 7 if the ballot is to be handed to the voter. Completed ballots must be returned to the library by 5 p.m. on April 8.
The budget has been adjusted since the April newsletter was printed. These are the final numbers.

I am honored to announce my candidacy for re-election as Library Trustee for the South Huntington Public Library. It has been a privilege to serve our community in this capacity for the past 17 years, and I am excited by the opportunity to continue advocating for the growth and development of our library. During my previous terms, I have worked diligently alongside my fellow trustees to enhance library services, improve access to resources, and expand programming that meets the diverse needs of our patrons. As a Professor Emerita of English at Nassau Community College, I believe strongly in the vital role that libraries play in promoting literacy and lifelong learning. I’m also especially proud of the way our library has integrated new technologies, embraced sustainability initiatives, expanded social services to support community well-being, and built partnerships with local organizations to create inclusive, collaborative spaces that enhance community engagement.
Our library is a cornerstone of the South Huntington community, and it is my goal to continue fostering a place where learning, creativity, and connection can thrive. With your support, I am excited to help guide the future of our library and ensure that it remains fiscally responsible and a valuable resource for generations to come. Tengo el honor de anunciar mi candidatura para la reelección como Fideicomisaria de la Biblioteca Pública de South Huntington. Ha sido un privilegio poder servir a nuestra comunidad en esta capacidad durante los últimos 17 años, y estoy emocionada por la oportunidad de seguir fomentando el crecimiento y el desarrollo de nuestra biblioteca. Durante mis mandatos anteriores, he trabajado diligentemente junto a mis compañeros fideicomisarios para mejorar los servicios de la biblioteca, mejorar el acceso a los recursos y ampliar la programación para satisfacer las diversas necesidades de nuestros usuarios. Como profesora Emérita de Inglés en el Nassau Community College, creo firmemente en el papel vital que desempeñan las bibliotecas en la promoción de la alfabetización y el aprendizaje permanente.
