We will be offering pickup service for library materials beginning Monday, June 15. Materials may be picked up at the library entrance. Everything will already be checked out and ready to enjoy. Only staff are permitted in the building at this time. No exceptions will be made.

You can order items in several ways:

  • Use our catalog to search for items currently available at our library, and place a hold on those you want. Please wait for us to contact you to arrange pickup of your materials.
  • Contact us by phone: 631.549.4411 or e-mail us at: express@shpl.info. We will need your name, barcode and titles of the items you are requesting. We will also need a phone number where we can contact you in case there are questions and/or to let you know your materials are ready to pick up.

Pickup times are Monday-Friday 11 a.m.- 7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.

**Please call us when you arrive so we can have your items ready.**

Items may be returned in the book drop in front of the building. Please note, all materials are quarantined for 72 hours before being checked back in, and will not immediately be removed from your patron record.

You may check out up to ten items per library card.

If you have mobility issues, we can provide accommodation by bringing materials directly to your vehicle. Please request this when you contact us.

All physical materials currently on the shelf are available, including books, audiobooks, DVDs, etc.

We will hold your materials for up to three days. If you need more time, please call us before the three days are up. Items not retrieved will be returned to the shelf and may be checked out by another patron.

Staff will wear masks and gloves in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Patrons and staff should not approach one another and should respect the need for social distancing. This may feel uncomfortable but is necessary to provide a safe, contactless pickup service. Please maintain a six foot distance from  other patrons when picking up your materials.

Returned library materials are being quarantined for 72 hours before being checked in and reshelved. As a result, you may still see the checkouts on your card. Late fees are not being assessed.
