  1. Register for Teen STEAM Challenge on 1/25

    Details : Exercise your STEAM problem solving skills in this friendly team competition. A fun challenge will be unveiled on the night of the program to be sure you use your noodle, not your Google! Registration begins January 11.
  2. A Time for Kids
    Time : 10:00 AM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Enjoy a series of fun, educational classes for preschoolers ages 18 months - 5 years (not yet in Kindergarten) and an adult caregiver. This is a skill building, interactive class that will help prepare your child for independent learning experiences. Register January 4.
  3. Drop-In and Play
    Time : 12:00 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Get out of the house, meet other parents and kids and have fun playing and talking together. It's a great way to meet other families in our community. Stay for as long or as little as you like.
  4. Positive Be-ing Cultivation Cafe' CANCELLED
    Time : 4:30 PM
    Location : Young Adult Room
    Details : Calling all teen artists, musicians, poets, dancers, authors, photographers and more! Whatever you do to express yourself creatively we welcome you to our open mic with open arms! If you would like to support others who are sharing, please do. Now is the time to share your gifts with us, even if it is just to applaud the others, your presence is important. .   5. Crochet for Kids
    Time : 4:30 PM
    Location : Program Room
    Details : Miss Gail will teach you basic stitches. After you have perfected your stitch, you will be given instructions to make a crocheted scarf or bag. Please bring to class a J crochet hook and a 4 ply skein of yarn. Register January 4.
  6. Friday Flicks: Skate Kitchen
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Theater
    Details : Camille is an introverted 18-year-old skateboarder who lives on Long Island with her single mother. She discovers "The Skate Kitchen," a subculture of girls whose lives revolve around skating, and bravely seeks them out. The rambunctious big-city girls quickly adopt the naive Camille as part of their gang. However, she soon learns the complexity of friendship when she befriends a boy (Smith) from a rival group of skaters. Rachelle Vinberg, Jayden Smith. R, 105 mins.
  7. Hot Chocolate Spoons

    Details : Make a set of mouthwatering hot chocolate spoons to stir into hot cocoa, coffee or any hot beverage. Registration begins January 2.
  8. The Database Games
    Time : 7:00 PM
    Location : Technology Center
    Details : Move over, Hunger Games, it's time for the Database Games! Tween contestants and their adults will learn to use a few of the library's online databases. Together, you will employ your new research skills to complete a timed, online scavenger hunt against other tween/adult teams. The first team to complete the activity will be crowned Database Champions, receive a special prize, and be poised to impress friends and teachers with superior search skills until the end of time!. Register January 4.
