    Details : This group is for adults (19 and older) with intellectual and developmental disabilities to gather in a relaxed setting to form lasting friendships through reading aloud and talking about books. Anyone can participate., regardless of their reading level. This group is facilitated by trained volunteers.   10. The Basics of Embroidery

    Details : Check out the hottest craft trend hand embroidery! Learn all of the very best hints and tricks from instructor Jo Cohen. This workshop is suitable for a true beginner to intermediate level. Topics will include how to find the right supplies and how to create several of the basic stitches. In this project you will create a visual stitch dictionary of your stitches along with receiving a simple pattern to complete on your own. Materials to bring: Embroidery Hoop, Needle Threader, Pack of embroidery needles size 3/9 or 5/10. Instructor will supply the rest of the materials. There is a $5 fee, payable at registration beginning June 5 for South Huntington cardholders; others June 12.
