    Details : Join us for a guided tour of the famed Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, training ground for some of the best chefs in country. We will also enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by these up-and-coming chefs in the highly-regarded Caterina de Medici Restaurant. The fee is $104 per person, which includes luxury motor coach transportation, tour, lunch, escort and all gratuities. Tickets go on sale March 4 for South Huntington cardholders; others March 11. Get them online with a credit card at or get them in person at the Circulation Desk. Tickets are non-refundable unless we can fill your seat from the waiting list. Seating is limited.

  5. Study Hours in the YA Library

    Details : The YA Library will provide extra tables and chairs for group study in support of our local school students. During these hours, gaming will be suspended.
  6. Writing Your Memoirs
    Time : 6:30 PM
    Location : Meeting Room
    Details : This is a 6-week workshop concentrating on autobiographical writing. Everyone has a story to tell, and this workshop will help the participants write the most powerful and effective memoirs they can through group discussion, constructive critique of their work and short in-class writing assignments. In this supportive environment, participants can work on existing work, new work, a full memoir or short essays. The workshop is taught by New York Times bestselling author and award-winning journalist Robbie Woliver, who also teaches writing and journalism at Farmingdale State College. There is a $20 fee, payable at registration, beginning May 1 for South Huntington cardholders.
  7. Battle of the Books Practice

    Details : If you are entering grades 6, 7, 8 or 9 in September and love to read, we have the program for you! We need your skills to read and memorize trivia from eight pre-selected books to compete against other Suffolk libraries for the title of County Champion! Meetings will be on Mondays June 19 - August 7 from 7-8 pm in the YA library, with the actual battle taking place on Saturday, August 12th and Monday, August 14th. New participants are welcome to attend June 19 and 26.
